Noida Metro Rail Corporation offers commercial space at three metro stations

The Noida Metro Rail Corporation has decided to lease out commercial space at three metro stations on the Aqua Line. The aim is to raise additional income and make better use of space inside stations that already see regular commuter movement.

The decision was taken as part of NMRC’s effort to improve non-fare revenue. Officials said ticket sales alone are not enough to meet operating costs and station-level commercial activity can help bridge that gap. The spaces will be offered through a formal bidding process. Businesses interested in setting up shops or service counters inside the stations will need to apply through NMRC’s tender system.

According to officials, the spaces are suitable for small retail outlets, food counters and other daily-use services. The exact size of each unit, licence fee and contract period will be mentioned in the tender documents. NMRC has clarified that commercial activity will be allowed only in designated areas. Passenger movement and security arrangements will not be affected. Station operations will continue as usual.

For commuters, the move could mean easier access to basic services during daily travel. For small businesses, it offers a chance to operate from high-footfall locations without setting up large standalone shops. NMRC has identified three stations where unused or underused areas can be leased. These areas are inside the paid or unpaid zones of stations, depending on layout and security requirements..
